What is Blockchain?

Most of the world of cryptocurrency technology such as Bitcoin relies on database forms with the advantage of being able to track large and secure transaction volumes. The technology used by many digital currencies is Blockchain.

Blockchain was first implemented in 2009, and was revolutionized with Blockchain 2.0 in 2014. Blockchain technology consists of blocks that hold transactions, where each block is interconnected via cryptography, thus forming a network.

Along with the development of the digital universe, cryptocurreny in the future has become an increasingly attractive proposition in the market and may not have traditional banking infrastructure. Some developing countries in the world have even implemented national Blockchain-based national currencies, such as Bitcoin, and the technology is also used by several large charity projects to help those without bank accounts.

Blockchain also has the potential to be used outside the scope of digital currency, and attracts the interest of many traditional financial institutions for adoption.

The project which will now be discussed, is called Cartesi

Cartesi is a scalable and decentralized LINUX portal that also provides development infrastructure and scalability of computing for cryptocurrency users or communities. With the Cartesi infrastructure, the main software stack can be used to encode blockchain applications. This will provide a strong guarantee and security application and can also reduce the high cost and limit of blockchain calculation technology.

This platform consists of two-layer technology that develops and deploys decentralized applications that can be scaled. It has DApps, which is supported by off-chain and blockchain components. The Cartesi Network also offers DApp developers with a very sophisticated Cartesi engine for calculations that can also be verified on a very large scale.

Cartesi also has long embraced the economic and security of the blockchain to enable computing tasks with the real world. With Cartesi, developers don’t need to rely on the reputation system, trusted third parties, or central authority. This gives developers the opportunity to use the services, libraries, and tools that they normally use.

Vision

Cartesi is a technology that enables the development and deployment of complex public and corporate blockchain applications. Cartesi allows traditional industries to easily move any existing technology to the blockchain such as databases, AI or computer vision; do all necessary processing involving large amounts of data outside the blockchain in a verifiable manner. Our MVP is a state of the art deterministic VM. It enables smart-contracts to specify complex computations that run off-chain on a Linux OS in a reproducible way.

Verifiability

The complete Cartesi Core allows these complex computations to be adjudicated for correctness on the blockchain, at negligible cost, in a safe and decentralized way.

Infrastructure

Cartesi will publish and maintain an open source SDK for the world to use. Create your own decentralized applications without knowledge of blockchain languages and deploy them to the growing network of Cartesi Nodes.
